Abyss is finally officially finished. All that is left is to get some FO shots of the sweater. Finally the weather has cooled off enough for me to actually want to wear a silk cardigain again. It seems like I have been at this one for awhile. The first method I used for sewing down the ribbons was a failure, so I had been putting off trying again. This past week and a half though in my free time I have been doing a ton of handwork to finish it up. |
This time I did 12 - 6 inch long linen ribbons for the main tabs and then 12 small 1.4 inch squares for the snap returns. |
Then they were stitched down using a locking blanket stitch so that it is possible for the threads to break and it still to not unravel. |
The linen ribbons frayed pretty badly. So I hand zigzagged all the ends and then double rowed hemmed them. |
