There are few things in life that can make your day like seeing someone actually knit your sock patterns and post a photos of the socks on Ravelry. Monika, from Smoking Hot Needles posted her beautiful version of the Hopper Sock on Ravelry and on her blog. I couldn't be happier. Thank you so very much, you really made my day. :) |

Hopper Sock Type :
Socks |
The sock is named after: Rear Admiral Grace Murray Hopper. "It's easier to ask forgiveness than it is to get permission" "A ship in a harbor is safe, but that is not what a ship is built for." - Rear Admiral Grace Murray Hopper While she was working on a Mark II Computer at Harvard for the Navy her associate found a moth stuck in a relay impeding operation, where she stated that they were “debugging” the system. She brought the term computer bug into popularity & the term is still attributed to the Admiral. 1996 – The USS Hopper (DDG-70) was launched. It was nicknamed The Amazing Grace, it is on a very short list of U.S. military vessels named after women |
