My shawl is coming along fairly well. I hit a major snag last night because I ran out of colour 3 in pattern 4 of the linen. So I had to order more yarn from Linnet. Thankfully they actually had the same colour. I know the dye lot will be wrong, but I didn't have a lot of choice. Linnet seems to never really have a full stock on any of there threads and I never catch it when my favorite colours are in stock. Above is the inspiration board that I did for the design and a rough sketch of how I wanted the columns and the cubes to flow and morph into each other. The idea is a play on l ines/ columns and varations of the cube and how it moves or morphs. |

Since I ran out of yarn I started another version last night to test the pattern. I am using Wollmeise that I picked up at The Loop in London. Not sure how the pattern will turn out, but I am currently really liking how the pattern is moving along. The whole process is making me happy and I am learning a lot. |

Abyss is finally officially finished. All that is left is to get some FO shots of the sweater. Finally the weather has cooled off enough for me to actually want to wear a silk cardigain again. It seems like I have been at this one for awhile. The first method I used for sewing down the ribbons was a failure, so I had been putting off trying again. This past week and a half though in my free time I have been doing a ton of handwork to finish it up. |

| This time I did 12 - 6 inch long linen ribbons for the main tabs and then 12 small 1.4 inch squares for the snap returns. |

| Then they were stitched down using a locking blanket stitch so that it is possible for the threads to break and it still to not unravel. |

| The linen ribbons frayed pretty badly. So I hand zigzagged all the ends and then double rowed hemmed them. |

The Abyss Jacket has been off the needles, sleeves set in, and ends all woven in for a couple of days now. I am so excited about it, but I have had to wait for the linen ribbon to arrive from JP. The other problem is that it has been setting on the blocking board trying to dry for days. Ohio weather has not been kind to this task. Olga suggests that you run a piece of ribbon behind the snaps/ tabs for added support, but not just any ribbon would do for my special sweater. |

| If it wasn't bad enough to be on the Habu 10 step program, where I haven't made it past step 1. I may have to get on the Linnet 10 step program. |
