Watching Libby knit a happy dishcloth

kitty: something new in the knit life in Columbus, Oh

Libby (Wonder Knit) and Karida (Neighborhood Fibers)

Columbus Alive also recently did an article about the cute store in Clintinville.

Be sure to check the Wonder Knit web site for a list of local classes and a map to help you find the store. Last time I was down there they hadn't gotten a store sign up and it was a little hard to find.

kitty: knit life in Columbus, Ohio - where to find Japanese Craft Books

The power of the blog....

It is really funny, I walked into Hana Gifts and was shocked to find two new shelves of craft books at our local Japanese gift store. I carefully combed through all the books and found 4 titles that were calling my name.

So I went up to the front counter and ask the woman behind the counter about all the new craft books. "She said well we are all shocked around here. We keep getting in customers who don't speak Japanese buying up our craft books so we decided to increase what we carry. And oh my goodness these customers spend a lot of money. "

Then she asked me why would someone want Japanese craft books if they couldn't read them, and I told her that they were the best craft books on the market. In confusion she rang me up.

She then asked I wonder how people are finding out we have them, and I told her every wonderful person who ask me about where I buy my books get directions to the store.

So the power of the blog works.... Hanna Gifts has really increased there craft books. Go Check them out!!!!!!

I SQUEELED in excitement when I called to let MG know the great news. Japanese Craft Books are just so cool!

kitty: Kleibacker - New York Designer to Ohio Curator - May 8th - July 6th, 2008

11 exhibitions curated by Charles Kleibacker.

Full biography of designer and curator Charles Kleibacker.

The press release for the opening.

Information & Links from the Riffe's Gallery Site

If you find yourself in Columbus, Ohio between May 8th - July 6th you really should stop by to see the exhibit of Charles Kleibacker's work. The Master of the Bias and the creator of the Midi Skirt in the '60's will be showing his work to the public again.

I had the great fortune to study under Charles while I was at OSU and work on several of the shows he curated. I will always cherish those experiences as some of the luckiest times in my life. His designs are really timeless and beautiful. He is truly one of the great American Fashion Designers.

Kitty: Knit Life in Columbus OH

So here is the knitlife locations for Columbus, Oh. I figured I would go ahead once and for all look up all the phone numbers so I can stop calling information when ever I need them. (ummm... I recycle my yellow pages when I get them each year. Since I always get 4 copies it always annoys me so I keep none. I figure I can google for any number I need or worse comes to worse call for information.)

Kitty: Sneak trip to the yarn Store

So what is a girl to do when her husband convinces her that oh I just need to go into the clients site for at most an hour? The convincing argument was then we would go get a nice lunch.

She goes to her local yarn store instead of setting in the car. What else????

My LYS has finally started to get in some summer stock. I was beginning to wonder if they were ever going to get in anything for spring. To my surprise they just started to carry Adrienne Vittadini yarns and they had Celia. What an absolutely lovely yarn. It was so soft it made me think of something my grandmother would have loved a sweater knit out of it. She loved anything that was super soft and they were definitely her colours. :(

They had also picked up a large stock of vintage buttons. I picked up the two to the right I just couldn't resist. A set of 5 old gun metal buttons and two carved bone buttons. I hope they start to carry other vintage buttons. I so have a weakness for old buttons.

I had a blast at the shop, just to bad that hubby took 3 hours instead of the promised 1. I could have spent more time yarn shopping had I only known. Luckily I had knitting in the car.

Thanks Knit Pixie. My lovely Bamboo yarn arrived safe and sound. Look at all that lovely bamboo yarn setting there waiting to be a tank top.
