What truly fascinates me though about Britt-Marie Christoffersson are the amazing classes I have read other bloggers post about in Japan. (link - link - link) Class photos that dreams are made of. Some of the techniques that are illustrated in her work I still have no idea how she accomplished them. So when I saw on Amazon jp that she had a new book they were carrying I jumped and ordered it. The photo of the book nor the look inside didn't do the book justice. |

As you can tell the book doesn't disappoint at all and is really spectacular. |

It comes in an oversized black portfolio case with a small colour booklet of some of the historical designs. Then each of the charts are printed on over sized glossy poster board. I wish all the charts had corresponding colour photos of the original historical garment, but we all can dream. Maybe someday I will get the nerve to do colourwork again (first attempt), but for now I am just an admirer from a distance. |

In the day of crazy priced OP titles, it is always nice to find a treasure that you can still pick up at a reasonable price. I found this title by pure chance while looking up information about Tvåändsstickning / Twined Knitting / Two End Knitting I found several references to the Britt-Marie Christoffersson, but since I couldn't read the Danish or German I really didn't know why her named showed up. So when I saw her name on two of the other blogs MG and I read; みどりの雑記帳 and My treasure is jin-musk-ten and Knit!!(手編み・犬） I had a little more information to search on Google. They had posted about a class that was offered by Britt-Marie Christoffersson in Japan. The class looked absolutely amazing so I tried to find if there were any books written by the teacher. Through my search it turned up 3 only this one seems to be available in English. Low and behold, I found this book for under $4.00 on Amazon so I ordered it right away. I couldn't be happier with this little treasure. The first half of the book is dedicated to historical garments with a black and white chart of the pattern detail. The second half of the book is some of her modern designs. The modern designs are a little dated, but the charts could still be used for other items. The historical charts are the true treasure though in the book. (note not patterns for the historical garments, just a chart of there colourwork pattern or stitch pattern) Contents: |
