Ok, I guess I should have kept my mouth shut when I knit the Textured Shawl for Vanessa in April that I would never knit this shawl again. Olga started hinting that she really wanted a version for herself. So I figured I might as well knit 1 more shawl for her. It even turned out that after I sent her her bday gift that had a hank of yarn in it she started the shawl with it. So the gig was up since I had already done the first 4 repeats. Oh Well... Guess I should never say never. I finished it while she was visiting for TNNA this past two weeks so I was fortunate enough to catch a couple of really cute photos of her modeling her B-day gift. Thanks so much Olga... :) |

kitty: delayed TNNA update
What can I say... TNNA was absolutely amazing! I know there have been lots of post and sneak peaks of the wonders from the TNNA this past weekend in Columbus, Ohio. What can I say there were so many knitting stars at the show, the people who have really shaped and brought popularity to the industry we all love. I had the honor to meet Stefanie Japel, from Glampyre. I must admit I had really hoped to get to meet her. I even mustered up the courage to go introduce myself to Cookie A. I have been a fan of hers since the Katrina Sweater days. There were so many others just walking around, signing new /old books and teaching classes. It was definitely a whirlwind tour and I have lots of things on my list that I want to investigate further. Neighborhood Fibers - There is a green that Stefanie Japel used in her new book that is to die for! Karida also dyes Roving which I never knew. And I must not forget the special thank you to the girls at Neighborhood Fibers; Karida, Libby, and Danielle. Thanks for putting up with me. Karida really does have a wonderful line of yarns with amazingly rich colours. And it is always nice to support the independents. :) |
