kitty: International Year of Natural Fibers

WOHO... Back in 2006, The General Assembly of the United nations voted that 2009 would be declared the International Year of Natural Fibers. The official launch date isn't until 22, January 2009 but I figure this is close enough for me. Objectives: (Per International Year of Natural Fibers website) raise awareness and stimulate demand for natural fibres; promote the efficiency and sustainability of the natural fibres industries; encourage appropriate policy responses from governments to the problems faced by natural fibre industries; foster an effective and enduring international partnership among the various natural fibres industries. I am so excited... Synthetic materials have been on the rise, so we can all hope this helps.
