kitty: 2005 around the corner

So, it’s the nearing the end of the year. Let us know what your knitting top five are for 2004 — the best yarn you’ve used this year, your favourite needles, the most successful finished object, or your most exciting discovery… While you’re at it, what about your knitting resolutions for 2005? Here are mine:
Top Five for 2004

1. Favourite needles for 2004: Addi Turbo’s and Inox. As a kid I knit with Susan Bates, but they changed the formula on the coating. The first sets of needles I bought when I restarted knitting this year were Inox, Red Top, and Aero. The Inox are great and I do love them for straights. The Aero remind me a lot of the Susan Bates that I used when I was a kid. The Red Top are dumpy and have the shortest tips I have ever seen. Though when I need needles in the future ummmm... they will be Addi Turbo's.
2. Favourite online shop for 2004: It’s a toss-up. Elann, E-bay and Knitty Knoddy. I never thought I’d buy yarn of all things from E-bay and Knitty Knoddy has been great in getting the pattern books I have lusted after. Elann, well what can you say beautiful cheap yarn.
3. Favourite yarns for 2004: Debbie Bliss Cotton Angora. Blue Sky Alpaca Organic Cotton
4. Favourite finished object for 2004: Hmmm... Probably the ruffle scarf or the Christmas Opera Length Gloves
5. Exciting new technique (for me) for 2004: Short rows and blogging with my knit buddy

Knitting Resolutions for 2005

1. Socks: Ok, I don't wear them at all, but I have this urge to knit a pair.
2 . Cables: Oh, this will definitely happen. Some sort of cable sweatre for the year
3 . TKGA Master Knitter Level 1: The plan is to finish all the swatches by the end of 2005. Hopefully if all goes well, I can start on Level 2 sometime in 2006. Ok I have to get the nerve to just do it now.
4. Knitting up the stash
5. Work on building my techniques
6. KNIT
