Well, the sweet Pinku was looking for someone to hand this off to and I volunteered. Since both my husband and myself love movies I though it was the thing to do.
I'm ready for my close up, knit bloggers.1. The last movie you went to see in a theater: Elektra though I really wanted to see Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera (2004). Phantom though has a lot to live up to since the Nelson Eddy version (1943) is one of my favorite movies
2. The last movie you watched at home? Well I slept through Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004) saturday night, I was just to tired. So the last movie I was awake to enjoy would have to be, House of Flying Daggers (2004) (available on VCD from Taiwan) or Wimbledon (2004).3. How many movies do you own? Well if you included laserdisc, vhs, vcd, and dvd I would say well over 1,000.
4.. What was the last movie you bought? Hubby just got, The Grudge. I refused to see it since I am not a horror fan. Well I guess I should say except for vampire and ghost movies. And 2046 the sequel to In the Mood for Love.
5. Got Netflix (or a similar service)? We tried it but they really didn't carry the movies we were looking for.
6. List five movies you adore/mean a lot to you:a) St. Elmo's Fire (1985) - The first R rated movie I ever saw with one of my
best friends and her mom. No, I didn't sneak in, but my mom wouldn't have approved.
b) Naughty Marietta (1935) - Rose-Marie (1936) - Maytime (1937) - Sweethearts (1938) - Smilin' Through (1941) - I Married an Angel (1942) - New Moon (1940) - The Girl of the Golden West (1938) - Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy America's Sweethearts. Well these were the movies of my childhood and the dating movies of my grandparents. So these movies will always mean the most to me. As a kid I cried my eyes out over the movie, today it is also because I miss them so much.
c) San Francisco (1936) - The Phantom of the Opera (1943) - Well these would be my two favorite classics. I have loved all versions of phantom even the silent one from the -20's. For
San Francisco who would love to see Clark Gable, Jeanette MacDonald, Spencer Tracy, and Jack Holt on the big screen.
d) Classic Tear Jerkers - Madame X (1966)
e) HK action flicks with subtitles only - no dubbing in this household please
f) Star Wars Episode II, the upcoming Star Wars Episode III, A.I. Artificial
Intelligence. and Ghost in the Shell
8. Name 3 people to whom you're going to pass these questions on, and why: Hmmmm Well I could be really mean and pass it on to MeowGirl. But I am also doing the cop-out. I don't know. If you read this and want to answer it email me and I'll send it to you.
