HAPPY MAY DAY! A Happy Day for all of us, especially us May Babies.
Today may be the international day of workers, but hopefully we will take a moment to celebrate the oldest traditions of the today. Through out the centuries on May Day people have celebrated springtime fertility and community gatherings. A day filled with Morris dancing (Morrish Ring), crowning a May Queen, celebrating a Green Man, and best of all dancing around a Maypole.
Something I didn't realize was that the International day of Workers began in 1886 in the United States where workers were fighting for an 8 hour work day. (Chicago Haymarket Riot)
