as i mentioned yesterday, i was at the Yellow Springs Wool Gathering in september. a lovely way to spend a blue-skied saturday afternoon. the event was pleasurably small--i could walk about leisurely, knowing i'd see everything as many times as i wished. there was a nice variety of vendors, including farmers who knew their animals by name--kindred spirits who loved rambouillets and bfls and shetlands and cormos. there were woolly creatures to appreciate. and some of the best ice cream i've ever had, from jersey cows whose lives could be witnessed there.
