kitty: Tatting and RPG's??? who knew

Beginning Tatting : C214 Spouses Craft room - Learn this age old but currently little known form of lace work. Part of the Spouse & Family Program event track That's right, Beginning Tatting was taught this year in the Spouse track at Origins. Who knew that Tatting and RPG's would be found in the same convention. I was so shocked I had to sign up for the class. I also had one other amazement over the weekend, I meet Knitterly Thing at Origins. That's right the creator of Vesper yarn. (WOW) Though I spaced out who she was when I meet her and it wasn't until MG went, that is Vesper did it dawn on me. Less than 10 hours of sleep over 5 days will do it to you. She was super sweet and on her way looking for other yarn shops when I ran into her, but how cool is that!!!!! VESPER :)

Well, it is definately an early Prince of Knitting Book. The focus is not as put together as some of his latter books. The project scope seems disjoined and odd mix. Some are amazing projects while others are made out of fun fur and you just wonder why. It always makes me smile when you can see his passion for finger knitting. There is a full photo diagram on steps to take for knitting at the end of the book.

When I saw the cover I was guessing that it would be filled with hip modern bags. As a bag addict, I am always looking for something new and unusual. So the green grass cover caught my eye. The projects inside are not exactly what I was expecting. This would be a great book for newbie knitters. It contains: A couple of bags, scarves, hats, how to swatch, cute edging, a great tartan blanket.

I have pretty much been failing this year when it comes to the Uefa Euro Food Cup 2008. I just haven't had much time to do the research, grocery shopping, and cooking the last couple of weeks. Though I thought I would at least show you what I have cooked and at least update you on the scores for the futball matches that have passed. On the UEFA Euro Crafting Challenge, hopefully a sweater and a hank of yarn finished. <Not holding my breath, but it is a goal>
