Item : Musical Toes |
For some reason the colour combination of this yarn kind of reminded me of some of Annie Albers latter works. So for the stitch pattern I searched through old Bauhaus photos and also old stitch pattern books from the 20's and 30's. I found one photo of a vest that Annie Albers husband was wearing that had a similar pattern in a light and dark yarn. |
The design is also similar to a weaving pattern that was attributed to the Bauhaus school. So I played around with it until I was able to duplicate the appearance or at least as close as I could. It is also a bonus since it is a ribbed stitch. I had read on a lot of blog sites that people are having problems with this yarn holding the shape during the day. So lets hope the all over ribbed will help. |

Lovely! Scratchy?
ReplyDeleteHi Fleegle..
ReplyDeleteThey are extremely scratchy!! It was also really unpleasant to knit with it. I guess I am spoiled. I really like soft sock yarn.
Kitty Kitty
pretty!
ReplyDeletethis is the first time I've seen this knitted up, and it is really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteToo bad it feels so scratchy! I guess Noro is kind of resting on their laurels now...maybe it will soften up with washing?
