A special thank you to all of the heroes, old and new that have sacrificed or risked there lives so that we can enjoy the freedoms we still have here in the United States. Thanks also to all the woman and men who have worked for the CIA and FBI, heroes behind the screens. The photos were taken at the Field of Heroes in Westerville, OH. kitty: Hopper Sock Pattern
![]() |
|
![]() |
Hopper Sock Type :
Socks |
The sock is named after: Rear Admiral Grace Murray Hopper. "It's easier to ask forgiveness than it is to get permission" "A ship in a harbor is safe, but that is not what a ship is built for." - Rear Admiral Grace Murray Hopper While she was working on a Mark II Computer at Harvard for the Navy her associate found a moth stuck in a relay impeding operation, where she stated that they were “debugging” the system. She brought the term computer bug into popularity & the term is still attributed to the Admiral. 1996 – The USS Hopper (DDG-70) was launched. It was nicknamed The Amazing Grace, it is on a very short list of U.S. military vessels named after women |
