Well, I have joined the ranks of the thousands of completed Clapotis in blog world. I think there are very few projects that really show off the beauty of hand dyed like Clapotis. I guess that's why so many have been knit. MG and I were talking about it yesterday, and I have to agree with her. As a rule I think we are all drawn to multicolour hand dyed yarns and when blog world finds a pattern that really highlights the beauty of hand dyed yarns we all jump on it. Not all patterns are meant to be made with hand dyed. Clapotis and Grumperina's Jaywalkers are the exception and not the rule. |

I do think you are right; I have tons of hand dye yarn that I adore as art. I just don't know what to do with it. Clapotis has always been tempting, but everyone knits it eventually. So that is a huge turn off for me.
ReplyDeleteWonder why there are not more good hand dye patterns. Just look at the patterns for Artyarns, they are horrible. The Noro patterns are not much better. Hmmmmm. Certainly something I know need to consider and ponder on now.
Another lovely Clapotis in the world. Hooray!
ReplyDeleteIt looks huge, I can not believe you did it on 2's. That is just crazy.
ReplyDeleteIts lovely!
I'm normally not the biggest fan of clapotis, but yours is really quite lovely!
